Burma Railway in Kanchanaburi, Thailand is one of the popular activity in the Kanchanaburi city. Burma Railway is originally called Thailand – Burma Railway and it is also know as “Death Railway” or “Burma – Siam Railway”, which was built during second world war in between Bangkok (Thailand) and Rangoon (Burma). As of now Thailand part of railway is still in work. There are 3 trains each way every day in between Kanchanaburi and Nak Tok. However, there are only 2 trains in operation in between Bangkok and Nam Tok via Kanchanaburi. So, the trains cross the bridge three times a day each way. Burma portion seems not in used since long.

Kanchanaburi to Nam Tok to Kanchanaburi Tour: First of all, your return ticket has to be purchased. Train is not air con, its general class or third class train with window down. Make sure you wear the goggles or glasses to cover your eyes from the dust. You can get food and drinks in train. There are 3 trains each way daily. Trains starts from Kanchanaburi at 05:57 hrs, 10:45 hrs and 16:19 hrs and arrive Nam Tok at 08:20 hrs, 12:20 hrs and 18:30 hrs respectively. Trains return back from Nam Tok at 05:20 hrs, 12:50 hrs and 15:15 hrs, which arrive Kanchabauri at 07:19 hrs, 14:44 hrs and 17:41 hrs respectively.
